Kaiteki is a japanese restaurant specialised on comfort foods like warm starters, teriyaki courses, rice and sushi dishes. The aim of the brand is to offer to its clients the warmth and cozyness of a local izakaya.
The inspiration for this branding project was the wabi-sabi aestethic and the konbu algae, one of the main ingredients of the warm broths of the japanese traditional kitchen.
For the graphics meant to accompany the logo I have been inspired by the sumi-e painting technique, and I have painted with watercolor some loose illustrations that will evoke a homely, raw, warm cooking vibe that the client was searching.
